Launching International Student Forum on China-Canada Studies
The first International Student Forum on China-Canada Studies is held on the 28thMay. The forum is initiated by the National Centre for Canadian Studies, and co-organized by the Canadian Embassy to China and the School of Foreign Language of Harbin Institute of Technology.
Students from more than 10 universities worldwide, including Beijing Foreign Studies University, China Academy of Social Science, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shangdong University, Nanjing Normal University, South-Western University of Politics and Law, Inner-Mongolia University and University of Toronto attended the forum.
The topics include politics, economics and culture. Professor Zhang Jian, Dean of School of English and International Studies pointed in his opening speech, "Premier Li Keqiang stated that the China-Canada Relation has entered a prime time. So, the students who are interested in this field may take the opportunity to make more contributions". Professor Liu Chen, director of the Centre introduced the National Centre for Canadian Studies and the mission of the forum. She encouraged the participants to promote communication between the people in the two countries and take China-Canada relation to a new level.
The review committee announced the winners of excellent papers including 3 first-grade, 8 two-grade and 9 three-grade papers. Professor Wang Zhanpeng, Deputy Dean of the School of English and International Studies, Professor Sun Wenlin, Deputy Dean of the International Business School, Yin Rui, from the School of English and International Studies chaired the forum. The forum was moderated by Professor Geng Li-ping and Dr. Dong Yi-kun from the Centre.

3. Special Panel for Canadian Studies on the Graduate Forum of the School of English and International Studies, BFSU
On the 10thGraduate Forum of the School of English and International Studies, the National Centre for Canadian Studies held a special panel. Graduate students of the Centre presented their papers from the perspective of politics, economics and culture. Dr. Zhang Xiao-yi moderated the panel.
